Anterior Labral Tear Test | Hip Labral Tear Assessment
The Anterior Labral Tear Test is a common orthopedic test to assess for anterior superior impingement syndrome, anterior labrum tear, and iliopsoas tendonitis labrum tears of the hip joint. No diagnostic studies have evaluated this test regarding its reliability or validity.
For this reason, the clinical value of this test is unknown.
To perform this test bring your patient’s hip into flexion, external rotation, and abduction. Then slowly move into internal rotation adduction and extension.
This test is positive if the patient’s symptoms are reproduced with or without a click or if pain is experienced.
