Description
Orthopedic Physical Assessment: Master the Fundamentals of Clinical Practice
Our Orthopedic Physical Assessment course provides an exceptional learning opportunity for physiotherapists at all levels—whether you’re a student, a newly practicing therapist, or an experienced clinician looking to refine and deepen your orthopedic knowledge. No prerequisites are required to join.
Course Overview
This course will equip you with a structured approach to screening, patient history-taking, assessment, and intervention for the most common orthopedic injuries affecting the upper and lower extremities. While our popular YouTube videos demonstrate “how” things are done, this course delves into the critical “why” behind physical examination and clinical reasoning.
What You Will Learn
For each pathology, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of:
- Incidence and Prevalence: Gain insight into the epidemiological data relevant to each injury.
- Prognostic Factors: Learn to predict the course of injury and identify negative prognostic factors that may affect recovery.
- Mechanisms of Injury: Understand the underlying pathophysiology for accurate assessment and diagnosis.
- Clinical Signs and Symptoms: Recognize key indicators that strengthen your clinical hypotheses.
- Diagnosis and Special Testing: Build confidence in forming accurate diagnoses and conducting appropriate special tests.
- Treatment Recommendations: Propose tailored, evidence-based interventions that improve patient outcomes.
Throughout the course, you will continually reference the latest research and scientific evidence, ensuring that your skills remain current and clinically relevant. You will also develop clinical patterns for each pathology, providing you with an invaluable resource for both study and clinical practice.
Interactive Learning and Case Studies
- Video Quizzes and Chapter Assessments: Each unit includes interactive video quizzes to reinforce learning. You’ll also complete chapter quizzes designed to assess your progress and consolidate newly acquired knowledge.
- Case Studies: Practice differential diagnosis through six detailed case studies, covering multiple body regions. These case studies provide real-world clinical challenges to apply your learning.
- Credits for Solutions: Successfully completing assignments will earn you credits that can be redeemed for solutions to the case studies, offering even more value and practical insights.
Become more confident in outpatient orthopedic practice
By the end of this course, you will feel more confident and better prepared to handle patients presenting with a wide variety of orthopedic complaints, whether during your internship or in everyday practice.
