Miniaci Test | Posteroinferior Labral Tear | Shoulder Instability Assessment

The Miniaci Test is a common orthopedic shoulder test to assess for posteroinferior labral tears leading to posteroinferior instability.

No reliability or diagnostic accuracy studies have examined this test yet, which is why its clinical use in practice is questionable.

To perform this test test have your patient in sitting position.
Bring your patient shoulder into adduction, 70-90° of flexion and internal rotation, while you give a posteriorly directed force. With your other hand palpate the anterior and posterior shoulder.
Then, bring the arm into horizontal abduction and external rotation.
