SUMMARY

This masterclass explores the application of Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training in tendon rehabilitation, emphasizing its effectiveness beyond traditional uses such as ACL injuries. Benoy Mathew discusses the mechanisms of BFR, its clinical applications, safety protocols, and the importance of a phased approach in rehabilitation, particularly for chronic tendinopathy and Achilles tendon injuries.

The masterclass highlights BFR as a valuable tool for physiotherapists to enhance recovery and strength in patients who cannot engage in heavy lifting due to pain or injury. In this conversation, Benoy Mathew discusses the application of Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training in tendon rehabilitation, particularly focusing on the patellar tendon and Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome (GTPS).

He emphasizes the balance between healing and patient tolerance, the technical aspects of BFR application, and the importance of education in rehabilitation. The masterclass includes insights from recent studies, practical applications, and case studies demonstrating the effectiveness of BFR in various tendon pathologies.
