SAŽETAK

This Physiotutors Masterclass focuses on the rehabilitation of multi-directional athletes, emphasizing the unique movement demands and injury mechanisms associated with sports that require rapid changes in direction. Dr. Bart Dingenen discusses the differences between linear and multi-directional movements, the types of injuries commonly seen in these athletes, and the importance of tailored rehabilitation strategies. He highlights the significance of understanding the biomechanics of change direction, the role of agility, and the need for effective communication among rehabilitation professionals. The masterclass also covers the phases of movement and the increasing demands of deceleration in high-level sports, underscoring the importance of preparing athletes for the specific loads they will encounter on the field.

This masterclass delves into the critical aspects of deceleration capacity in athletes, emphasizing the importance of braking forces, rehabilitation strategies, and the integration of action and perception in training. Bart Dingenen discusses the need for a holistic approach to athlete redevelopment, focusing on physical capacity, motor learning, and the transition from rehabilitation to performance in multidirectional sports.
